German communists: “Without the Berlin Wall, there would have been war”

In an article published on “Unsere Zeit” portal, the newspaper of the German Communist Party (DKP), General Secretary Patrik Köbele referred to the conditions under which the Berlin Wall was built on August 13, 1961.

After mentioning that the decision to build the Wall wasn’t an easy decision, Köbele points out: “The state border between the GDR and the “West” was also the border between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, ie the border the two strongest military alliances at the time. NATO always aimed at destroying socialist construction in the Warsaw Pact’s states by all means – arms race, diversion, sabotage and, if necessary, military aggression. It was prevented from doing so due to the security of the GDR state border”.

Who saved Europe from the Nazis? The Soviet Union's triumph and the falsification of history

“Anyone who loves freedom, owes such a debt to the Red Army that it can never be repaid”. This phrase of Ernest Hemingway encompasses the whole symbolism of the 9th May 1945; the day of the Great Antifascist Victory of the people.

The day when the red flag with the sickle and hammer raised over Reichstag, in Berlin, thus marking the triumph of the Red Army and the Soviet Union over the monster of Nazism.

Acknowledging, recognising and taking responsibility for the Genocide! Taking the necessary steps to move forward!
24th April 1915 marks the date upon which the Ottoman authorities in Istanbul (formerly Constantinople) began the roundup, arrest and forced deportation of leading Armenian figures from the city in what is widely regarded the beginning of a campaign of genocide against the then Ottoman Empire’s minority Armenian community…  A campaign that was allowed to continue largely without restraint over the following several years, the reverberations of which are still keenly felt over a century later.

30 years since the execution of Ceausescu — Who has benefited?

"We want to die together" were the last words of Elena
Ceausescu. Bucharest, 25 December 1989.
Thirty years have passed since the counterrevolutionary events in Romania and the execution of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife, Elena. It was on December 25, 1989 when, after a hasty, parody trial before a Kangaroo court, the Ceausescu couple were executed in Targoviste, north of Bucharest.

According to the head of the firing squad, Nicolae Ceausescu sang "The Internationale" while being led up against the wall. The execution of Ceausescu marked the end of the counter-revolutionary overthrow of Socialism in Romania and the beginning of a “new order” in the country.

"The EU is the flag-bearer of anti-communism and history's distortion" — KKE MEPs

In a statement published in Rizospastis, the Communist Party of Greece group in the European Parliament denounces another anti-communist event organized at the EU Parliament's Plenary for the Berlin Wall fall anniversary, with the major speaker being the President of the German Parliament (Bundestag) Wolfgang Schäuble

The statement reads: "The anti-communist fiesta organized for the Berlin Wall fall, with a speech by Schauble at the Plenary of the EU Parliament in Brussels, confirms the role of the EU as a "standard-bearer" of anti-communist and history's distortion. Once again, the imperialists distort history and the truth. The Wall was the result of the intervention and aggression of the imperialists, of the continuous subversion against the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

The Berlin Wall: Exposing the lies of imperialism

It was 30 years ago, on 9 November 1989, when the destruction of the Berlin Wall began, marking the overthrow of the socialist power in the German Democratic Republic and the restoration of capitalism

Since then, the 9th of November consists a milestone for imperialists who organize various fiestas about the "fall of the wall" and the "reunification of Germany".

The 30th anniversary of the Berlin Wall fall coincides with the intensification of the European Union's anti-communist campaign which includes the hideous and unhistorical equation of communism with nazism. Last September, the EU Parliament adopted an utterly despicable resolution, full of anti-communist slanders, that violently distorts history.

EU Parliament's new despicable anti-communist resolution distorts history

Once again the EU Parliament proves its role as a leading instrument of anti-communist distortion of history.

In a joint resolution signed by the political groups of the People's Party, the Social Democrats, the Liberals, the Greens and the Conservative Reformists, the EU tries - once again - to equate communism with fascism-nazism and legalize the unacceptable reactionary measures against the Communist Parties and their activity in a number of member-states.
