We continue on the road of Red October - We strengthen our struggle for Socialism

We, 36 Communist Youth Organisations from every corner of the Earth, on the occasion of our participation in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, we held in Russia on the 18/10/2017, a common activity dedicated to the 100 years of the October Revolution and we declare the following:

We collectively honour the 100 years from the Great October Socialist Revolution! We honour the outstanding world-historical event of the 20th century that proved that capitalism is not perpetual and invincible, proved that the peoples with their struggle can overthrow capitalism and construct a superior society, socialism.

Celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution in New York City

On November 7, 2017 Marxists in New York City will come together to commemorate a revolutionary centenary.  One hundred years to the day since the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution,  US activists and scholars will assemble to celebrate  a socialist revolution which, more than any other, defined the 20th century and still impacts our century, the 21st.

The Bolshevik Revolution stunned a despairing world weary of the mass slaughter in the trenches of the First World War. It sent shock waves through all people’s movements around the world, not least in our country.

On October 18, 2017, within the framework of various events organized by the KKE to mark the 100^th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, a concert was held with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Greek Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) at the Megaron Music Hall with works by the Soviet composers Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev, and Aram Khachaturian. 

The ERT Orchestra was directed by internationally renowned orchestra conductor Alexander Myrat.

Dear comrades,

We honour here at the headquarters of the CC of the KKE the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, a great epic of struggles and sacrifices for the construction of a new society, without the exploitation of man by man, which the peoples experienced and continue to experience under capitalism and also under the previous exploitative social systems.

This epic, which began victoriously in the country of the Soviets inspired the working class and the peoples all over the world.

The 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution was honored in Athens (+Video)

"Long live the October Socialist Revolution! Long live Marxism-Leninism and Proletarian Internationalism! Our future isn't capitalism; it is the new world, socialism!".

Under these slogans and with the presense of representatives of Communist Parties from various countries, the Central Committee of the KKE honored the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. The event, which took place at the KKE's headquarters in Perissos, Athens, consists part of the celebrations organised by the CC of the KKE for the centennial of the 1917 October Revolution.

Within the framework of the events commemorating the 100 years since the October Socialist Revolition, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece organises on Sunday 15 October, at 6 pm in Athens, an internationalist event under the title "100 years since the October Revolution. Capitalism is the past, Socialism is the future".

The event will be addressed by the Secretary General of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas, while greeting messages will be delivered by representatives of the Communist Parties participating  in the meeting of the Editorial Committee of the "International Communist Review". The event will take place at the KKE headquarters in Perissos. (In Defense of Communism).

The future is here! The future is here, at the 43rd festival of KNE and ODIGITIS, in this beautiful picture of the enlightened future world which all visitors can admire.

The future is here, in the Tritsi park, in the center of the western Attica, which has been transformed into a red city thanks to the volunteer work and will of our KNE’s members and friends.

You can see the future in the faces of the thousands of young people who are determined to fight for a life with modern rights to work, education, life,  sports and culture. That’s the origin of our slogan, “Youth does not bow its head, it attacks and struggles alongside the KKE!”

Powerful message for struggle: At least 250,000 people attended KNE-Odigitis Festival in Athens

With the tremendous, unprecedented participation of thousands of people of all ages, the three-day events of the 43rd Festival of the Communist Youth of Greece and its newspaper "Odigitis" were concluded in Athens. 

According to KNE, the number of the people who attended the cultural and political events of the festival reaches the record high of 250,000.

The third and last day of the Festival, among other events, included a large concert dedicated to the late composer Manos Loizos, with the participation of popular singers like George Dalaras, Maria Farantouri and Vasilis Papakonstantinou. The concert took place on the occasion of the 80 years since the birth of Loizos, one of Greece's most talented composers who died at the age of 45. 

"Proletarians of all countries, unite!": Declaration by communist and workers parties for the 100 years since the Great October Socialist Revolution

Our future is not capitalism, but the new world of the Socialist Revolution and the construction of socialism-communism.

We, the participants in the international conference, which met in Leningrad during the celebrations of the 6th Congress of the RSDLP (B), which adopted a line of immediately preparing the armed struggle for the socialist revolution, present this declaration as the joint position of the parties, which base themselves on Marxism-Leninism-the teachings on the socialist revolution, as an objective scientific law that is determined by the unresolved contradictions of global capitalism.

Great October of 1917 confirmed the correctness of the Marxist-Leninist theory regarding the inevitability of the socialist revolution as a crucially necessary element for the victory of the proletariat in the class struggle against the bourgeois class and the successful construction of socialism and full communism, a society for the free development of all its members. All the efforts to escape from a world dominated by capital through gradual social reforms lead in various ways only to the perpetuation of social inequality and the perfection of the forms of exploitation.

The Great October Socialist Revolution that happened one hundred years ago turned a new page in the history of mankind. The Great October Revolution ignited the revolutionary spirit in the hearts of hundreds of millions of people around the world, and infused them with confidence in their fight for a new world.

The October Revolution did not break out suddenly and as something that was generated solely in the Russian reality, it rather resulted from the entire flow of recent world, and in particular European, history. It was the fruit of the socialist aspirations, existence and functioning of the working class with the goal of tearing down the society divided in classes and the creation of classless human society.

A hundred years ago scientific socialism became reality. Until then, Marxism had only been theorized within the First International and applied to the class struggle in conditions of bourgeois domination; after that, it became reality for a short while, during the Paris Commune, showing that the proletarian revolution was not only possible, but even necessary. With the October Revolution, Marxism is applied to building Socialism, as the first step in the construction of the Communist society.

This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the socialist revolution in Russia. It was the first time that the working class anywhere in the world was able to seize and hold power. The revolution grew out of the conditions of imperialism and the First World War. Russia had been ruled by a tsar, or emperor, making it one of the most reactionary regimes in Europe.

International conference honoring the centennial of the October Revolution began in Leningrad

The works of the international scientific conference honoring the 100 years since the 1917 October Revolution began on Friday in St.Petersburg (Leningrad), Russia. 

The subject of the conference, which is hosted by the Russian Communist Workers Party (RCWP), is "the Centennial of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Lessons and tasks for the contemporary communists", while numerous communist and workers parties from all over the world are participating.

The Communist Party of Greece is represented by the member of its Political Bureau Giorgos Marinos and Elissaios Vagenas, member of the Central Commitee and head of the international relations section of the CC.

Hundred years have passed since the Great October Socialist Revolution triumphed on the 7th of November 1917. The Hungarian Workers' Party celebrates the Great October as an outstanding event of the universal history, an event that had a decisive influence on the world, the international workers' movement, and also on Hungary and the fate of the Hungarian workers and toiling masses.

“Achievements and successes of the working class in socialism”, presented by the KKE in Athens

Τhe work “Achievements and successes of the working class in socialism”, published by “Synchroni Epochi”, was presented by the KKE's Central Committee, on July 12^th in Egaleo, Athens.

“Our future isn't capitalism. It is the new world, socialism”! This slogan was shouted by hundreds of members and friends of the KKE and KNE at “Alexis Minotis” municipal theatre of Egaleo, where the publication was presented. Working people from various sectors, who live the intensive capitalist exploitation, listened with interest the significant information that the new publication contains and which proves the superiority of the socialist system. The publication- a result of a collective effort by the Central Committee's department for Labor and Trade Union work- consists part of the KKE's greater multiform activity for the 100^th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution .

In the 15th Congress of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) which took place between 22 and 25th of June in Caracas, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by its Political Bureau member Giorgos Marinos and Dimitris Karagiannis, member of the international relations section of the CC and journalist in 'Rizospastis'. 

On June 21st, the PCV organised the 2nd International Ideological Seminar with the subject being "The timeliness of Lenin in the 100 years of the Great Socialist Revolution", in which 18 Communist and Workers Parties participated.

In these conditions, it becomes especially important to deliver the objective truth about the first victorious proletarian Revolution, its historic global importance for the world’s worker movement, for the struggles to liberate the oppressed peoples from imperialism, and ultimately for all humanity.

For more than four decades, the KNE-Odigitis Festival, organised by the Communist Youth of Greece (youth wing of the KKE), consists a major annual cultural and political event. 

This year, the KNE-Odigitis festival will honor the Great Socialist October Revolution, using as a major slogan the lyrics of the Soviet poet Vladimir Mayakovsky: "100 years since the October that shocked the world "the future will not come on its own… If we do not also take measures".
